Motability at Eden Suzuki

If you’re in receipt of a mobility allowance, you’ll be in a position to choose a vehicle from our Motability range. At Eden Suzuki, we’re proud to support the Motability Scheme and to make this exciting marque’s cars available to our disabled customers

All the following are qualifying mobility allowances:

  • Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
  • War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS)

As long as you receive one of the above, you can exchange it for a vehicle in our Motability collection, which includes the Suzuki Ignis, Suzuki Swift and Suzuki S-Cross.

Motability comes with a number of benefits. For instance, you can have your vehicle of choice specially adapted to suit your personal circumstances. There are hundreds of modification options to choose from, each of which can help you with driving, accessing your car and stowing a wheelchair.

Motability at Eden Motors Suzuki also incorporates RAC breakdown cover, inclusive servicing, insurance for up to three designated drivers and much more.

If you have any questions about how Motability works and how it can help you, please get in touch with us today.

Q. AM I ENTITLED TO FINANCIAL HELP AS A MOTABILITY CUSTOMER?

Close

A. Motability may offer financial assistance towards your car, adaptions, and more, but this needs to be arranged before applying.

Q. I’M NOT ENTITLED TO THE HIGHER RATE OF DISABILITY LIVING ALLOWANCE, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Close

A. Don’t worry; we can still help. Contact us and we will advise on how you can obtain your ideal car.

Q. ARE PEOPLE OVER THE AGE OF 65 ELIGIBLE FOR THE MOTABILITY SCHEME?

Close

A. Yes, if you’re currently receiving the higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement. If you’re not receiving these allowances, you aren’t eligible beyond the age of 65.

Q. WHAT MOBILITY ALLOWANCE RATE AM I ENTITLED TO?

Close

A. You should have received an award notice from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) containing details of your allowance entitlement. If you’ve not yet received information, you should contact the DWP directly.

Q. HOW CAN I HAVE ADAPTIONS MADE TO MY VEHICLE?

Close

A. We’ve got ties to many Motability-approved adaption partners. They will provide advice and guidance to help you manage the process of organising the changes.

Q. CAN I HAVE A MOTABILITY CAR AT THE SAME TIME AS A POWERED WHEELCHAIR OR SCOOTER?

Close

A. Unfortunately not, as your disability allowance is used to cover the cost of the car and this generally consumes the whole allowance.

Q. WHO IS INSURED TO DRIVE MY MOTABILITY CAR?

Close

A. You can nominate two drivers to use your Motability vehicle. If you are a disabled driver, you count as one and can choose anyone else you trust. You can change who is authorised during the lease, and a third person can be added at an additional cost. Please note that restrictions apply for drivers under 25.

Q. DOES THE DISABLED MOTORIST RECEIVING MOBILITY ALLOWANCE ALWAYS NEED TO BE IN THE VEHICLE?

Close

A. No. Although the scheme is provided primarily for you, other nominated users can use the vehicle on their own.

Q. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY VEHICLE TO BE DELIVERED?

Close

A. That depends on the model type and if adaptions are required. We’ll inform you of this as soon as we know.
