Earlier this year, Eden hosted the Eden Excellence Awards in London to recognise the most outstanding colleagues across our business in 2022. As we continue to grow our ties to the Southwest and its communities, these awards help celebrate the most exceptional colleagues during this journey. By recognising excellence in all areas of the Eden family no matter the experience or age, from Aftersales Advisors to Sales Executives and Technicians, we foster a culture of recognition and drive for continued success.
21 winners, nominated for going above and beyond in their respective categories, attended the event in Knightsbridge. Our colleagues at Eden regarded each winner as innovative in the motor retail industry and nominated them forward. In attendance was CEO Graeme Potts, who stated that:
“I hope that our partners, their family and friends are very proud of the recipients of the awards, who represent all of the family-led values we strive for.”
Among the award recipients was Nicola Hadley, a founder colleague with a long history of selfless support toward Eden and her colleagues. Nicola took home the CEO’s special award due to her being “utterly professional and a great Eden ambassador who is a fantastic role model for women in the industry” as said by James Kurd, Sales Director. He continued, mentioning that “If it weren’t for Nicolas’s support, many of Eden’s seniors wouldn’t be where they are today”. It’s with this level of dedication toward a role at Eden that the excellence awards gravitate, and in the case of Nicola, we at Eden are overwhelmingly grateful.
Another notable winner was Gary Treeby from our Technical Support team in Torbay. Gary has over 26 years of continuous service and is recognised as being the region’s go-to man for technical queries. With an unrivalled dedication and willingness to go the extra mile to solve a problem, it’s easy to see why his excellence award was well deserved. The youngest winner of the Eden Excellence Award was Sam Copsey, an apprentice at our Exeter dealership. Colleagues immediately saw that he was a team player, recognising his eagerness to learn and his ability to complete complex tasks with a smile on his face.
Recognising the efforts of colleagues like Nicola, Gary and Sam is what drives these awards, with Graeme Potts further highlighting:
“Rewarding colleagues for their efforts, their attitudes, and their achievements, based on the values are such an important part of Eden. We handed out 21 awards in total, but it could so easily have been 40 or 60 given the sheer number of people who were recommended by their colleagues.”
A full list of our 21 winners is found below, where each nominated colleague received an engraved crystal trophy, a £500 cash award and a fully funded night away in a top London hotel for them and a guest. Here at Eden, we cherish the efforts of our colleagues and will be preparing for next year's Excellence Awards to celebrate Eden’s values and successes. Graeme Potts closes with:
“Whatever happens, we will be repeating [the awards] and it will become an annual part of our recognition and celebration of our colleagues’ success,”
