Motorists in South Devon and Wiltshire can now get their hands on two of the latest award-winning electric cars as Newton Abbot’s and Swindon's Eden MG dealerships are gearing up for massive EV growth.
Hot on the heels of the New MG ZS EV being crowned Driving Electric Car of the Year 2022, the MG5 EV has won the What Car? Award for Best Value Large Electric Car and Best Electric Estate, adding further street cred to the country’s fastest-growing car brand.
The awards come after a bumper year for MG, which saw over 30,000 UK sales for the first time in 2021, with the ZS EV and MG5 EV being a major part of that.
The ZS EV is a small SUV with an electric range of 273 miles and a state-of-the-art new iSMART infotainment platform, while the MG5 EV brings a unique station wagon-style body to the electric car market, with class-leading luggage capacity and a 250-mile range.
Over 40% of MG’s sales in 2021 were electric as the brand establishes a firm foothold as a leader for affordable EVs – an image that fits well with Eden’s vision of a better world of motoring.
Eden’s Operations Director for the brand, Russell Catlow, said: “MG is a really exciting brand at the moment and is growing its market share, much of it through the latest long-range EV models that you can buy through our Eden dealership which are a class apart from electric cars of the past. They’re great value and have a seven-year warranty, as well as a longer electric range than many of their more expensive rivals. They’re proving very popular with environmentally minded customers who want affordable electric cars.”
MG currently offers six models in the UK including three plug-in cars – the new MG ZS EV, the New MG5 EV and MG HS Plug-in Hybrid - all backed up by MG’s comprehensive 7 year warranty. Eden Motor Group has two MG sites, in Swindon and Newton Abbot.
