The Vauxhall Grandland has been a core part of the brand’s range for many years, acting as one of the more practical options within the range. The Grandland is returning in 2024 as something quite different, however, with a variety of cutting-edge features integrated into this new SUV.

Vauxhall has adapted to create several engine options for its latest range of cars and the Vauxhall Grandland is no different. If you’re after a hybrid, then the Grandland’s 1.2-litre electrically-assisted engine will no doubt prove spot-on. It brings a decent 166bhp and should return just under 43mpg during combined driving.
However, if you’re looking to head into the world of electric vehicles, then the Grandland has an option for you too. With a 73kWh battery, the Grandland can return up to 325 miles of range from a single charge, while a maximum charge rate of 160kW means an 80 per cent top-up can be conducted in 26 minutes.
The Grandland receives many design touches that we’ve seen across Vauxhall’s latest models. The most prominent is its ‘Vizor’ front end, which was transformative for the look and feel of cars like the Mokka and Corsa, and it makes a big impact here too. Essentially, it helps to give the front end of the car a near-seamless look, with the headlights appearing to fit flush with the front grille.
You may notice that the Vauxhall Grandland badge on the nose of the car illuminates, too, while a two-tone paint scheme helps to make the roof appear to ‘float’ above the rest of the car. You can also get the Grandland in a good number of colours to make sure that it fits your personality.
There’s enough technology to keep even the most avid button-presser happy inside the Grandland. All cars get a 10-inch infotainment system with a driver’s display of the same size and both are clear and easy to read when you’re on the move. There’s a six-speaker sound system, too, so you can enjoy your favourite tracks while out and about.
Plus, with a variety of USB-C charging points dotted throughout the Grandland’s cabin, there’s no reason for anyone’s smartphone or tablet to have a flat battery.
The SUV style is all about space and in the Vauxhall Grandland that’s no different. The boot is 30 litres larger than the one you would’ve found in the older Grandland, standing at 550 litres with the rear seats in place. Fold them down and you’ll find that space being expanded to 1,645 litres - so there’s more than enough space for a week’s worth of shopping or that weekend trip to the tip.
Inside the main part of the Grandland’s cabin, you’ll find plenty of other storage options. A highlight is the clever new ‘Pixel Box’ which is a transparent and illuminated compartment where you can store your smartphone while it’s sitting on the wireless charging pad. Elsewhere, you’ve got some handy cupholders and deep door bins to help keep the whole interior tidy.
The new Vauxhall Grandland is available in one of three specifications - Design, GS and Ultimate. Design-grade cars come with a lot of equipment as standard, including wireless smartphone mirroring, dual-zone climate control and adaptive cruise control that can help to make those longer journeys a little less tiresome.
Step up to GS and you’ll find features such as Intellilux LED headlights being added alongside additional USB-C charging points and the ability to receive over-the-air updates that can help to keep the Grandland’s infotainment system cutting-edge at all times.
Finally, there’s the range-topping Ultimate grade. This incorporates ChatGPT voice assistance technology, an extended head-up display system and a one-touch power sunroof and automatic blind, among other features.
