Vauxhall Corsa Electric

THE VAUXHALL CORSA ELECTRIC

AT EDEN MOTOR GROUP

Corsa has gone electric! The new Corsa Electric shares the same easy-driving qualities of its petrol and diesel sibling but swaps out the engine for a 50kWh battery and 134bhp electric motor, which produce no CO2 emissions.

This all-electric car is capable of 0-60mph in less than eight seconds and offers a range of approximately 200 miles. And with rapid charging, the battery pack reaches an 80-percent charge in roughly half an hour. In every other respect, the new Corsa Electric is just the same as other Corsas, offering practical every day motoring to suit families and businesses alike.

 Design

The Corsa Electric is a perfectly proportioned and masterfully sculpted supermini. It’s an undeniably upmarket car, with LED headlights, striking alloy wheels and a contrasting roof and door mirrors. It’s even available in unique Power Orange for those who want to make a bold statement.

Drive

The 66KwH battery pack offers lively and eager performance, getting the Corsa Electric from 0-60mph in 7.9 seconds and from 0-30mph in 2.7 seconds. It’s great fun, but also frugal, with a WLTP-rated EV range of 205 miles. Charging up costs around 7p per kWh (£6 per charge), making it a very frugal car to run.

Practicality

The new Corsa Electric is a practical five-door hatch, perfect for families and trips away. The deep boot easily accommodates a large suitcase and a few hand-held bags, or a pram or stroller. Take it shopping, on the school run or on road trips, there’s space for everything.

Living with it

Cruise control, keyless start, LED headlights, rear parking sensors and an automatic electric parking brake are standard features. The infotainment system is brilliant too - it’s a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto built-in – just plug and play.

Driving aids aplenty

The new Corsa Electric is very safe to travel in thanks to its array of standard-issue driver aids. For example, rain-sensitive windscreen wipers operate automatically, allowing you to concentrate on the important matter of driving. Other safety tech includes Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), which automatically processes upcoming road signage, relaying the relevant image to the car’s instrument panel, thus providing easy reference. TSR also recognises temporary signs.

Exterior There’s much to admire about this fine-looking electric vehicle. For a start, it rides on 16-inch alloy wheels as standard, which not only feature an attractive two-tone design, but possess a lightweight quality that aids overall efficiency. The car features LED headlights too, which deliver greater intensity than halogen alternatives. Also included is a series of body-coloured fixtures (front and rear bumpers, for example), which harmonise perfectly with a standard-issue Navy Blue finish. Of course, you can choose from a number of optional colours, such as Summit White, Diamond Black, Hot Red and Power Orange.
That’s infotainment Stay connected and entertained wherever you travel, with a range of infotainment features that are included as standard. As well as a six-speaker stereo (featuring DAB radio), there are AUX and USB ports – and Bluetooth connectivity, enabling audio streaming and hands-free communication. All models come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing you to access your smartphone via the vehicle’s 10-inch touchscreen. The latter is also your gateway to a host of satellite navigation features.
