The Mazda CX-30 is a compact SUV whose exterior good looks are matched by a plush, comfortable cabin – which provides a quiet environment, even if you’re speeding along the motorway. As you’d expect from a Mazda, it boasts superb build quality and comes well-equipped as standard. The CX-30 is available in SE-L, SE-L Lux, Sport Lux, GT Sport and GT Sort Tech trim levels, thus providing motorists of all types with a wide range of options.
Power and balance. The Mazda CX-30 exudes both, with a sporty stance, sculpted profile and perfect proportions. Sport Lux models onward feature adaptive LED headlights while GT Sport models have gorgeous black leather upholstery.
Available with your choice of a Skyactiv-G or Skyactiv-X engine, the CX-30 is powerful and efficient. The Skyactiv-X engine is brilliant, with 178bhp on tap and the option of a manual or automatic transmission. Refinement comes baked in.
The 430-litre boot is plenty for family getaways and there’s enough room for five adult passengers in the cab. There are ISOFIX points on both rear outermost seats and numerous cubby holes. An electronic handbrake frees up space up front.
Living with it
The 8.8” infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto is easy to use, and all models have Radar Cruise Control and Traffic Sign Recognition. A powered liftgate and rear parking camera are standard on SE-L Lux models onwards.
The Mazda CX-30 comes with Euro NCAP’s maximum five-star rating and a panoply of protective features, such as Mazda Radar Cruise Control. This useful piece of technology analyses the CX-30’s speed as well as the distance between it and the vehicle ahead – and adjusts speed accordingly. Another standard-issue driving aid is Emergency Stop Signalling, which uses the car’s brake lights to warn following vehicles if you are about to come to an abrupt halt.
