Due to its stylish good looks and sheer driveability, the Mazda6 is well worth looking at. There’s more, however, including a well-appointed and comfortable cabin, lots of equipment as standard and a fine selection of diesel engines. And if this saloon doesn’t quite offer as much interior space as you would like, there’s always the larger Mazda6 Tourer to consider.
The Mazda6 makes the right first impression with its powerful, muscular body and exquisite yet elegant silhouette. Inside, it impresses still with first-class ergonomics, state-of-the-art infotainment technologies and plush black leather upholstery on Sport Nav models.
The Mazda6 offers a dynamic driving experience with strong performance, keen handling and a refined, subtle ride quality. It is just at home in the city as it is on the motorway, and the SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY engine range is impressively efficient too.
Choose between a Saloon or Tourer body to suit your lifestyle. The Saloon has a 483-litre boot, while the Tourer has a 506-litre boot. Dynamically, both models offer plenty for keen drivers and both feature ISOFIX anchorage points on the rear outermost seats.
Fuel economy of 47.1 to 68.9mpg combined means that whichever engine you choose, you will enjoy low running costs with the Mazda6. All models come well equipped, with cruise control and Hill Hold Assist fitted as standard across the range.
Drive assistance
Rated a full five stars by Euro NCAP, the Mazda6 is exceptionally safe to travel in, not least because of the wealth of passive protective features and active driver aids that it features as standard. One such example is Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), which uses side-mounted sensors to monitor the progress of adjacent vehicles that might otherwise go undetected. And BSM incorporates Real Cross Traffic Alert, which utilises the aforementioned sensors, allowing the car to be reversed safely.
