How the Motability scheme works

The Motability scheme has so far helped millions of disabled motorists to stay independent by making it simple for them to access and fund a brand new car adapted to meet their requirements.

Here at Eden Motor Group we are pleased to support the scheme by providing motorists with models from leading manufacturers and assisting them with every stage of the application. We're also there for the duration of the plan to deliver servicing, maintenance and more.

If you are considering applying for Motability assistance, please first check whether or not you are eligible by visiting our eligibility page. If you are, the process of receiving an adapted vehicle is simple.

Choose your vehicle

When deciding which model you would like to receive, it's important to think about the adaptations that may be needed to the cabin. Not all examples will be suitable for some modifications, so it makes sense to find out what changes will be needed first. It's also worthwhile to research the efficiency of any car you're interested in, as fuel costs aren't covered by your lease. You'll find more guidance on the scheme's website here.

Approach the dealership

Should you choose a vehicle that one of Eden's marque dealerships can provide, you then need to contact the Motability specialist employed there. They'll book a test drive, and speak with you about the optional extras available plus adaptations.

Order your vehicle

Once all the fine details have been agreed, it's time to order your vehicle. The Motability adviser will deal with this stage, and you will receive an acceptance letter which contains your Personal Identification Number. You'll be informed of an expected delivery date, but this may change, so please stay in contact with your dealership.
